SERVICES

Health Director

Description:

Under the guidance and direction of the Chief and Council, and in accordance with the orientations and policies adopted by the First Nation Council and ratified by the General Membership, the Director General plans, develops, organizes, directs and controls all the activities, services and programs under the jurisdiction of the Eagle Village First Nation Council. The incumbent is responsible for the implementation of sound and efficient management practices.  The Director General also provides advice and assistance to the First Nation Council in financial, administrative, managerial and technical fields.  The Director General is accountable to the First Nation Council and ultimately to the Eagle Village First Nation Members.  The incumbent must develop and implement effective means of communication to ensure that the members are always well informed of the services available to them and of the administration of the First Nation resources.

NNADAP

Description:

Under the supervision of the Director - Health and Social Services the incumbent, in conjunction with the other health professionals, acts as the main resource person to promote the prevention of alcohol and drug abuse in the community; to provide education on the danger and problems associated to alcohol and drug dependency; to establish and maintain liaison contact with health professionals, law enforcers, referral agencies, community leaders; to make referrals to treatment centers and provide a continuing support system during post-treatment phase; and to provide support to family members.

Community Health Representative

Description:

Under the supervision of the Director - Health the incumbent, in conjunction with the other health professionals, coordinates prevention health programs in response to the needs of the community.  Informs the people of the proper channels of health services to ensure quality services for their families; promotes and provides information on health, nutrition, sanitation, hygiene, diseases, and lifestyle; promotes and encourages community links by incorporating social activities within the prevention strategies.

Mental Wellness

Description:

Under the supervision of the Director - Health and Social Services, the incumbent plans and organizes Wellness Program@ activities and workshops to enable individuals in the community to be fundamentally happy, to feel at ease with themselves, to react positively to different situations and to maintain a constructive relationship with their immediate environment and with the society of which they are part of.  Mental Health Wellness as much in common with the traditional Anishinabe concept of health which means that health is more than the absence of illness, it alludes to a state of mental, physical, emotional and spiritual balance.

Community Nurse

Description:

Under the supervision of the Director of Health and Social Services, the incumbent    will participate in the planning, organization and provision of health and homecare services in accordance with the policies adopted by the Eagle Village First Nation Council in order to instill healthy living habits with a view to preventing and reducing the incidence of disease, ill health and mortality thus, allowing at the very least the same level of health and homecare services as other Canadians.  The incumbent is also responsible for the case management, ensuring that each client receives the care and services according to their specific needs.

Home Care Services

Description:

Under the direction of the Community Health Nurse, and in accordance with the policies adopted by the Eagle Village First Nation Council, the incumbent delivers in conjunction with the other health professionals, the provision of ongoing and short-term home support services for individuals and families during periods of incapacity, convalescence or family disruption, or to elderly persons who are in loss of autonomy.

Sports & Leisure Coordinator

Description:

Under the direction of the Recreation and Sports Coordinator, and in accordance with the policies adopted by the Eagle Village Council and the orientations and priorities defined by the Recreation Committee, the Youth Coordinator plans, coordinates and organizes social, recreation and sports activities for the youth population of the Eagle Village First Nation living in Kipawa and the immediate surrounding area.

Daycare Director

Description:

Under the direction of the Director General, and in accordance with the policies adopted by the Eagle Village First Nation Council and the orientations and priorities defined by the Board of Directors, the Daycare Director, organizes, manages, administers and controls the daycare programs, services, operations, resources and activities of the Eagle Village First Nation. The incumbent is accountable to the Director General and to the Board of Directors particularly for the daycare programs and orientations.

Environmental Health Technician

Description:

Under the supervision of the Director of Health and Social Services, and in accordance with the agreement and guidelines of Health Canada, the incumbent manages a bacteriological monitoring program in order to monitor the quality of the treated water production and distribution systems in the communities of Eagle Village, Long Point and Temiskaming First Nations; develops a communication strategy in order to keep the Chief and Council, the health official and the communities informed and well aware.  The incumbent is accountable to the Director General
